Contribution and PAC activity

The "Around the Capitol" website gives information on all California races. Go to http://www.aroundthecapitol.com/SS/Elections/ for information on the Secretary of State race.

This page shows several items of interest:

"Cash on hand" as of certain dates, the latest being May 20, 2006. This can be misleading as a campaign committee can spend their money the day before or hint to donors to wait til the next day to look poor.
"Latest Contributions" - this only seems to show contributions of $1,000 or more.
"IE (Independent Expenditure) Committees" - funds spent on behalf of or against a candidate.
"Headlines" - articles about the race or Secretary of State candidates.

There is also a place on the page where you can sign up to get daily updates via email. This is especially useful to see the Headlines and newspaper articles. ElectBowen.Org Home
